Our all-new vegan Indian dish list:
CHANA MASALA
My favourite vegan Indian dish is chana masala. See the video to find out more!
Chana masala is mainly a northern Indian dish, but it is also served as a breakfast item in the south.
Since chana means "chickpea" and masala means "spice," this dish is a chickpea curry made with tomatoes, garlic, ginger, onion, a variety of spices, and, of course, chickpeas.
By default, it's typically vegan. Ghee, a form of clarified butter that is often used as cooking fat in India, is the only non-vegan ingredient in this dish.
If this is the case, you may request that the ghee be replaced with a plant-based oil by the restaurant workers. Chana masala goes well with rice or a piece of bread like chapati or naan. Alternatively, both!
VEGETABLE PAKORA
Pakoras are unquestionably the ideal snack for vegan Indian cuisine! They're essentially besan (chickpea flour) fritters with vegetables like potato, bell peppers, cabbage, and spices. This dish is typically accompanied by a tasty mint or coriander chutney.
ONION PAKORA
Pakora or pakoda is a deep-fried snack made with gramme flour, salt, spices, and the main ingredient such as onion or a vegetable. During the monsoon and cold winters, onion pakoda is one of the most common and well-liked SNACKS. These are a very popular evening snack in most Indian homes and are eaten with a cup of MASALA TEA.
MIXED VEGETABLE CURRY
This fast and easy Mixed Vegetable Curry dish is ideal for a balanced weeknight dinner or a simple vegetable side dish. This is an Indian-style curry that is naturally vegan and incredibly tasty!
